حَكَيتَyou resembled جِسْمِيmy body تُحُولاًin transformation
فهلso, have...? تعشَّقْتَyou fell in love with حُسْنَكْyour beauty
You resembled my body in its transformation.
You described my body transforming,
So have you fallen in love with your own beauty?
So did you fall for your own beauty?
وكانand was جَفْنَكَyour eyelid مُضْنىًlanguid
فصرتَso you became كلُّكَall of you جَفْنَكْyour eyelid
And your eyelid was languid;
Your eyelids were heavy,
so all of you became your eyelid.
So you became all eyelid.
وزادَكَand increased you السُّقمُthe illness حُسْناًin beauty
واللهِby God إِنَّكَindeed you إِنَّكْindeed you
And illness made you more beautiful.
Sickness increased your beauty,
By God, you are truly you!
By God you are, you are.
