O you whose neck is bare save for its own charms,

Because of you, I have left my heart bare of all but sorrow.

On the thread of my body, the pearls of tears are strung.

Then would your neck care for a necklace at no cost?

Do not fear me, for in my frailty I am like the breeze,

And the breeze poses no threat to the bough.
