بنفسيَwith my life as ransom منthe one whom عانقْتُهI embraced him ولثمتُهand I kissed him
فكادso it nearly عناقيmy embrace أَنto ينثَّرَscatter عقدَهhis necklace
My life as ransom for the one I embraced and kissed.
With my own self I embraced and kissed him
So my embrace nearly scattered the beads of his necklace.
My embrace almost scattered his necklace
وأَفرطَand became excessive لثْميmy kissing حائراًbewildered فوقover خدِّهhis cheek
وأَسرفand went too far حتىuntil كادit nearly يُذْبلُmake wither وردَهُhis rose
And my kissing grew excessive, bewildered upon his cheek,
My reckless kiss wandered above his cheek
And went so far it nearly withered his rose.
And I was excessive until his rose almost withered
أَغارI feel jealous عليهover him منof يديْthe two hands of كلِّevery لامسone who touches
ومنand from غيرتيmy jealousy مزَّقتI tore باللَّثمwith kissing خدَّهhis cheek
I am jealous of the hands of anyone who touches him,
I was jealous of him from every touching hand
And in my jealousy I tore his cheek with kisses.
And from my jealousy I tore his cheek with a kiss
