حين رقَّتْ لِي حواشِيهِ
Many a month have I enjoyed,
Many a month whose edges I enjoyed
When its edges grew tender toward me.
Whenever its nights were long for me

Its days raced by, so brief,
Its days passed quickly
When its nights grew long.
When its nights were prolonged for me

So its first day was mid-month,
So the first half was
And its second was the month's last day.
And the past was the second half
