O you who take back your union,
A guide or weary
out of coyness or weariness,
You are like the sun but your epoch is the noon of decay
أَنتyou كالشمسِlike the sun ولكنbut
أَنت كالشمسِ ولكن
دَهرُكyour time الظُهْرُnoon زوالاin decline

you are like the sun, but
Pass me amidst your folds
your time is noon in its decline.

So when the cupbearer says “haha”, I say “no no”
it turbaned my head in flame.

Indeed, an old man who plays at youth
With Ali I rise

Gray hair has brought me low, but
When fate acts prolonged
through Ali I rise high.

A king who gave new life to bounty,
After having dispelled misguidance
just as he wore out blades.

Thus he shielded the faith from its foes,
Where no domain is found
and spared mankind the fighting.

His warfare against his foes
Every prolonged day

Rather, victory over them was his,
With him they returned as sands
recurring day after day.

He wore the Indian sword thin by bearing it,
And his is the stab of improvising
and the Rudayni spear by gripping it.

He mastered Time by force,
Grasp wearing the crown of conceit
with tall spears, not by guile.

And we saw Time within his two flanks,
And people your dependents
swaggering with kingship.
And religion became protected
قدalready جعلتَyou have made الدَّهرTime داراًa dwelling

You have made Time a dwelling
Through you and riches debased

Making fate upright
by you, and wealth freely spent.

And you encompassed mankind with justice
That silenced people's speech
that set Time straight and balanced.
