ونلت أَمراً مازال ملءَ أَمَلْ

ونلت أَمراً مازال ملءَ أَمَلْ

I did something that remains the finest deed,

I did a deed that's still so good

And gained something that remains the fulfillment of hope.

And gained a thing still full of hope

قبّلت خصراً لمنْ أُحِبُّ فَما

قبّلت خصراً لمنْ أُحِبُّ فَما

دَارَ عَلَيْه سِوَى ثَلاَثِ قُبَل

دَارَ عَلَيْه سِوَى ثَلاَثِ قُبَل

I kissed the waist of the one I love, and nothing

I kissed a waist of her I love

Encircled it but three kisses.

It turned not but for three kisses
