وافَى سليلُ العلا وقد شهدَت

وافَى سليلُ العلا وقد شهدَت

بما سَمَا من سِماتِه سِمَتُه

بما سَمَا من سِماتِه سِمَتُه

The scion of glory has arrived, and witness has been borne

by his appearance to the loftiness of his traits.

من طرَفيه طابت أَرومتُه

من طرَفيه طابت أَرومتُه

كما علت في الكرام مَكْرُمتُه

كما علت في الكرام مَكْرُمتُه

His stock is noble on both sides,

just as his honor has risen high among the noble.

أَبوه عند الوزيرِ مالكُ أَهـ

أَبوه عند الوزيرِ مالكُ أَهـ

ـلِ الأَرض جوداً وأُمُّه أَمتُه

ـلِ الأَرض جوداً وأُمُّه أَمتُه

His father, in the vizier’s eyes, is master of the people

of the earth in generosity, and his mother is his bondwoman.
