يا من غدت تختال من خالِها
وخالُهاand her mole يقضيdecrees بتهجينهاthat she be deemed flawed
وخالُها يقضي بتهجينها
O you who have grown proud of your mole,
though your mole proclaims you flawed.
كأَنماas though خدُّكyour cheek تُفَّاحَةٌan apple
كأَنما خدُّك تُفَّاحَةٌ
وخَالهاand its mole نُقْطَةُthe dot تَعْيِينهاof its identification
وخَالها نُقْطَةُ تَعْيِينها
It is as if your cheek were an apple,
and its mole the dot that identifies it.
