وبادهَنْجٍand a windcatcher عَلاَrose high بِنَاءًin construction
وبادهَنْجٍ عَلاَ بِنَاءً
لكنَّهbut it قدhas هَوىsunk low هواءَin airflow
لكنَّه قد هَوى هواءَ
And a windcatcher rose high in its construction,
With chisel and adze he erected a building
yet it has sunk low in its airflow.
But it collapsed into thin air
دامlingered عليلُthe ailing one النسيمِof the breeze فيهwithin it
دام عليلُ النسيمِ فيه
كأَنَّهas though it يطلبُseeks الشفاءَhealing
كأَنَّه يطلبُ الشفاءَ
The ailing breeze lingered within it,
As long as the breeze lingered within
as though it were seeking a cure.
As though seeking remedy in there
