أَهلاً به من ولدٍ مباركٍ

أَهلاً به من ولدٍ مباركٍ

يسلُك من طُرْق أَبيه ما سلكْ

يسلُك من طُرْق أَبيه ما سلكْ

Welcome to him, a blessed son!

He treads the paths his father trod.

بدرٌ جلا عنا الدَّياجيَ نورُه

بدرٌ جلا عنا الدَّياجيَ نورُه

وكَمْ مَحا ضوءُ أَبيه من حَلَك

وكَمْ مَحا ضوءُ أَبيه من حَلَك

A full moon whose light has dispelled the dark nights from us.

And how much darkness his father's light has effaced!

بشَّرَت العليا به والده

بشَّرَت العليا به والده

بشارةً تعُمُّ أَرضاً وفَلك

بشارةً تعُمُّ أَرضاً وفَلك

Glory brought his father glad tidings of him,

Glad tidings encompassing earth and the firmament.

قالت لقد نلتُ به من أَمَلي

قالت لقد نلتُ به من أَمَلي

بلَّغ الله تعالى أَمَلَك

بلَّغ الله تعالى أَمَلَك

She said, "Through him I have indeed attained some of what I hoped for;

May God Most High fulfill your hope."

فكلُّنا أَصبحَ مسروراً به

فكلُّنا أَصبحَ مسروراً به

لأَنَّه قرَّةُ عينٍ لي ولك

لأَنَّه قرَّةُ عينٍ لي ولك

So we have all become joyful because of him,

For he is the delight of my eyes and yours.
