إِن من خصَّه الفؤا
دcompletes “the heart” بإِخـــــلاصwith sincerity وُدِّهِits affection
د بإِخـــــلاص وُدِّهِ
Indeed, the one whom the heart singled out
He who is blessed with his sincere love,
with its sincere affection—
Finds shade beneath its sheltering wings.
ضلwas lost فيin ظِلِّthe shade of هُدْبِهِhis lashes
ضل في ظِلِّ هُدْبِهِ
خَالُهُhis beauty mark فَوْقَupon خَـــــدِّهِhis cheek
خَالُهُ فَوْقَ خَـــــدِّهِ
in the shade of his lashes lay lost
More precious to him than his own cheek,
his beauty mark upon his cheek.
Is the one he loves held dear.
