Against which charms and talismans avail not.

Yet was not granted that felicity.

Can one feign indifference to love
by a lover created for nothing but passion?
When by nature he was not created thus?

The day we parted, I thought my heart

Still with me, but knew not it was stolen.

Having met love's fire, to ashes turned.

My life is darkened, I see no dawn,

And gather those now parted after separation.
