تَنقادُyield لِيَto me الأَوتارُthe strings وَهيَthough they are عَصِيَّةٌunruly
تَنقادُ لِيَ الأَوتارُ وَهيَ عَصِيَّةٌ
فَأُذِلُّso I humble مِنهاamong them كُلَّevery ذيpossessor of اِستِكبارِarrogance
فَأُذِلُّ مِنها كُلَّ ذي اِستِكبارِ
The strings yield to me, though they are unruly;
The strings are pliant for me though they're unruly,
so I humble every haughty one among them.
So I humble everyone possessed of pride.
وَلَقَدand indeed أَزورُI visit مَعَwith القِسيِّthe bows أَهِلَّةًcrescent moons
وَلَقَد أَزورُ مَعَ القِسيِّ أَهِلَّةً
فَأُعيرُهُنَّso I lend them دَوائِرَcircles الأَوتارِof the strings
فَأُعيرُهُنَّ دَوائِرَ الأَوتارِ
And indeed, with bows, I visit crescent moons,
And I oft discourse with one who is cruel when
so I lend them circles of strings.
I touch on the strings and turn them around.
