By my reckoning, your last union with me
The date of your return to me
was months ago; I have not enjoyed it since.
Has been months since I attained it
وإِنّand indeed هِجرانَestrangement for يومٍa day
وإِنّ هِجرانَ يومٍ
علىfor المحبّthe lover كثيرtoo much
على المحبّ كثير
And indeed, a day's estrangement
A day of separation
is too much for the lover.
