ليme (completing the preceding fragment) وَمَاand not ذَاكَthat يَجمُلis fitting
لي وَمَا ذَاكَ يَجمُل
He bought a dagger to kill
He bought a dagger though slain
me—and that is not fitting.
By my eyes, and how unfit!
كَيفَhow يَمشِيhe walks بِخَنجرٍwith a dagger
كَيفَ يَمشِي بِخَنجرٍ
مَنone who بِعَينَيهِwith his two eyes يَقتُلkills
مَن بِعَينَيهِ يَقتُل
How can he walk with a dagger,
For one whom my glances kill
he who kills with his eyes?
With a dagger to walk still.
