وَالصُّبْحُand dawn قَدْindeed مَطَلَkept waiting اللَّيْلُthe night العُيُونَthe eyes بِهِfor it
كأَنَّهُas though it were حاجَةٌsomething needed فيin يَدِّhand ضِنِّينِa miser
And dawn—night has kept the eyes waiting for it,
as though it were something needed in a miser’s hand.
