والماءُand the water ساجٍstill مستكينٌsubdued هيبةًin awe
والماءُ ساجٍ مستكينٌ هيبةً
لمعزِّof Muʿizz دينfaith اللهGod ذيpossessor of الآلاءِbounties
لمعزِّ دين الله ذي الآلاءِ
And the water lies still, subdued in awe
The water flows submissively, awed
of Muʿizz Dīn Allāh, possessor of bounties.
By the Glory of God, Lord of Bounty,
ذوبٌmolten substance منof البلورcrystal عادbecame لوقتهat its very moment (at once)
ذوبٌ من البلور عاد لوقته
فيin هيئةthe form of الياقوتةِthe sapphire الزرقاءblue
في هيئة الياقوتةِ الزرقاء
Molten crystal, it changed at once
Melted from crystal, returned to its time
into the form of a blue sapphire.
In the form of a blue sapphire.
يحكيresembles المباردَthe files (tools) بالمتونِalong the surfaces وتارةًand at times
يحكي المباردَ بالمتونِ وتارةً
كبطونِlike the bellies of حياتٍsnakes علىon رمضاءscorching ground
كبطونِ حياتٍ على رمضاء
It resembles files along its surfaces, and at times
It tells of the sword's blade and its sheath
is like the bellies of snakes on scorching ground.
Like the bellies of serpents on hot sand.
