الوصل من الحياة أحلى وألذ
لوif only ينصفhe acts justly منthe one who أضاعsquandered عهديmy pledge ونبذand cast aside
لو ينصف من أضاع عهدي ونبذ
Union is sweeter and more delightful than life.
Reunion is the sweetest, most delightful part of life
If only the one who squandered my pledge and cast it aside would act justly.
If only he who broke my pact and abandoned me would be just
لوif only يشقhe rends بحكمهwith his decree الذيwhich فيwithin me نفذtook effect
لو يشق بحكمه الذي في نفذ
لوif only ردhe returned إلىto المحبthe lover ماwhat منهfrom him أخذhe took
لو رد إلى المحب ما منه أخذ
If only he would rend with his decree, which took effect within me.
If only he would reconsider his verdict made in haste
If only he would return to the lover what he took from him.
If only he would return to his lover what he took
