With cheeks dyed as if by dusk's blush
twilight smiling to reveal obsidian darkness.
You'd think the twilight smiled through the gloom
قانٍdeep crimson يروقكdelights you حسنthe beauty منظرهof its appearance
قانٍ يروقك حسن منظره
فكأنماso, as though يسقىis watered دمblood المهجthe hearts
فكأنما يسقى دم المهج
Deep crimson, the beauty of its appearance delights you,
A slender cup whose beauty delights
as though it were watered with the blood of hearts.
As though it brimmed with hearts' red bloom
طعنpierced الهمومthe sorrows بمايسwith a swaying form خضلٍdew-moistened
طعن الهموم بمايس خضلٍ
صافيclear الأديمthe skin ومنظرٍand an appearance بهجradiant
صافي الأديم ومنظرٍ بهج
It pierced sorrows with a swaying, dew-moistened form,
The griefs outwitted by pure wine
clear-skinned, and with a radiant appearance.
Of shining goblets and cheerful room
ويظلand it remains مبتسماًsmiling يضاحكهexchanges smiles with it
ويظل مبتسماً يضاحكه
ماwhat فيin ثغورthe mouths النورthe blossoms منof فلجgaps between front teeth
ما في ثغور النور من فلج
And it keeps smiling, exchanging smiles with
Still smiling, laughing, it seems to say
the gaps between the teeth of blossoms.
