بمنto whom يستغيثُcries for help العبدُthe servant الاَّexcept بربهِto his Lord
بمن يستغيثُ العبدُ الاَّ بربهِ
ومنand who للفتىfor the young man عندَduring الشدائدِhardships والكربِand distress
ومن للفتى عندَ الشدائدِ والكربِ
To whom does the servant cry for help but his Lord?
To whom can the servant cry out, except to his Lord?
And who is there for the young man amid hardships and distress?
And who can help the young man in times of distress and hardship?
ومَنْand who مالكُmaster of الدنياthe world ومالكand master of أَهلهاits people
ومَنْ مالكُ الدنيا ومالك أَهلها
ومنand who كاشفremover of البلوىaffliction علىin البعدdistance والقُربِand nearness
ومن كاشف البلوى على البعد والقُربِ
And who is master of the world and master of its people?
Who is the Master of this world and Master of its people?
And who lifts affliction, whether far or near?
And who dispels afflictions whether far or near?
ومنand who يدفعُwards off الغَمَّاءَdire calamity وقتَat the time of نزولهاits descent
ومن يدفعُ الغَمَّاءَ وقتَ نزولها
وهلand is ذاكَthat الاَّexcept منamong فعالِكَYour deeds ياO ربّيmy Lord
وهل ذاكَ الاَّ من فعالِكَ يا ربّي
And who wards off dire calamity when it descends?
Who drives away sorrows when they descend?
And is that not among Your deeds, O my Lord?
Can it be other than You, my Lord, and Your actions?
