Each day, O Time, we have a battle;
The heads of calamities lie in pieces within its bounds.
حظّيmy lot منof العيشِlife أكلٌfood كلُّهall of it غَصَصٌchoking mouthfuls
مزُّacrid المَذاقِin taste وشُربٌand drink كلُّهall of it شَرَقُchoking on drink
My lot in life is food that brings nothing but choking,
Acrid to taste, and drink that brings nothing but choking.
