وأَتعبُ خلقِ اللهِ من ذادَ هَمُّهُ

وأَتعبُ خلقِ اللهِ من ذادَ هَمُّهُ

وقصَّرَ عما تَشتهى النفسُ وُجدَهُ

وقصَّرَ عما تَشتهى النفسُ وُجدَهُ

And the weariest of God’s creatures is one whose ambition has grown,

And the weariest of God's creatures is he whom his worry drives away,

while his means fall short of what the soul desires.
