أَلَم يَبلُغكَ أَنَّ الحَيَّ كَلباً
أَرادواthey wanted فيconcerning عَطيَّتِكَyour gift إِرتِداداa return
أَرادوا في عَطيَّتِكَ إِرتِدادا

وَقالواand they said إِنَّهاindeed it is صُهبٌreddish ones وَوُرقٌand gray ones
وَقالوا إِنَّها صُهبٌ وَوُرقٌ
وَقَدthough already أَعطَيتَهاyou gave it دُهماًblack ones جِعاداcurly-haired ones
وَقَد أَعطَيتَها دُهماً جِعادا
And they said it consisted of reddish and gray ones,
And they said it is gold and paper
though you had given them black, curly-haired ones.
