How wondrous a garden—its narcissus spent the night within it,
God has a garden, whose narcissus was slept upon by Him
dreamy-eyed, glancing sidelong at its tale-bearing herb.
Whose beauty was eyed by one with languid glances

And the rose is Roman in its garments and adornments—
And the rose is Roman in its clothes and ornaments
and do you not see it buttoning up its sleeves?
Or else you see it embroidering its sleeves
