ورحلتي المُشتَهاةُ تُزري

ورحلتي المُشتَهاةُ تُزري

بالرَوضِ عند الفَتى الأَريبِ

بالرَوضِ عند الفَتى الأَريبِ

And my longed-for travelogue puts to shame

My longed-for journey comes to pass

the garden, in the discerning youth’s eyes.

In the garden with the charming lad

فإن تغرَّبتَ فاِصطَحبها

فإن تغرَّبتَ فاِصطَحبها

فإنَّها سَلوةُ الغَريبِ

فإنَّها سَلوةُ الغَريبِ

So if you go abroad, take it with you,

If you're a stranger, let it accompany you

for it is the stranger’s solace.

For it is the consolation of the lonely
