My companions in the encampment say to me, “How long

will you sing in remembrance of Zaynab and compose love verses?

ترفق فكم من حي زينب في الحمى

فقلت لهم ما كل زينب زينب

فقلت لهم ما كل زينب زينب

Take it gently, for many of Zaynab’s clan are in the protected grounds.”

So I told them, “Not every Zaynab is Zaynab.”
