  1. عذار حبي لام

    والثغر كالميم أضحى

    My beloved’s cheek-down is a lām;

    and his mouth has become like a mīm.

  2. وعذّلي فيه ولوا

    مذ عاينوا الصدغ كالحا

    And those who reproached me over him turned away

    when they saw his temple-lock like a ḥāʾ.
