ياO سيديmy lord شاشيَmy turban cloth أمسىhas become بهin it
يا سيدي شاشيَ أمسى به
خرقa tear وقدand indeed ضاقhas grown narrow بيfor me الخلقall creation
خرق وقد ضاق بي الخلق
My lord, my turban cloth now has
O my master, my gown is worn
a tear, and all creation has grown too narrow for me.
And people trouble me sore
فابعثso send الىto العبدthe servant سواهanother in its place وجدand give generously
فابعث الى العبد سواه وجد
مناas a favor والاand if not اتسعwill widen الخرقthe tear
منا والا اتسع الخرق
So send your servant another, and generously bestow
Send your servant a new one
a favor—otherwise the tear will widen.
Lest the hole grow more and more
