O you whose antlike cheek-down has taken the poets captive,
O you who left the poets gathering your blame
The star bears witness for me that I am lovesick [reading uncertain].
The stars bear witness that I am truthful
صيرتyou have made قلبيmy heart منbecause of صدودكyour rejection فاطراbreaking apart
صيرت قلبي من صدودك فاطرا
فامننso bestow favor عليّupon me بقبلةwith a kiss ياO يوسفُYusuf
فامنن عليّ بقبلة يا يوسفُ
You have made my heart break through your rejection;
Your rejections have made my heart desolate
So favor me with a kiss, O Yusuf!
So bestow on me a kiss, O Joseph
