سبيئتان اثنتان هذي

حلٌّ مباحٌ وذي حَرامُ

حلٌّ مباحٌ وذي حَرامُ

There are two wines: this one

Two paths before me lie

Is lawful and permitted, and that one is forbidden.

One lawful, one sinful in God's eye

قُل لذوي العلمِ خَبّروني

قُل لذوي العلمِ خَبّروني

ما الحلّ مِنها وما الحَرامُ

ما الحلّ مِنها وما الحَرامُ

Say to the learned, “Tell me:

Those wise in learning, tell me why

Which of them is lawful, and which is forbidden?”
