حفّتencircled بِحِقوَيهِaround its two flanks الأَنجمthe stars الزُّهرُthe radiant
حفّت بِحِقوَيهِ الأَنجم الزُّهرُ
Behold the full moon in the sky, with

كأنّهas though it were بِركةa pool مفضَّضةٌsilvered
كأنّه بِركة مفضَّضةٌ

حَفّ بِها مِن جِهاتِها زَهرُ
It is as though it were a crimson-dyed mantle,
It is as though it were a silvered pool,
