ومُعتَنِقَينِand two embracing one another ماnot اتُّهماthey two were accused بعِشقٍof passionate love
ومُعتَنِقَينِ ما اتُّهما بعِشقٍ
وإنand even though وُصِفاthey two were described بضَمٍّas clasping واعتِناقِand embracing
وإن وُصِفا بضَمٍّ واعتِناقِ
And two embracing one another, not accused of love,
Those accused of love's embrace,
Though described as clasping and embracing.
Though described as clasped together,
لَعَمرُby the life of أبيكَyour father ماnot اجتَمَعاthey two came together لمَعنىًfor a purpose
لَعَمرُ أبيكَ ما اجتَمَعا لمَعنىً
سِوَىother than مَعنىthe purpose of القَطيعةِseverance والفِراقِand separation
سِوَى مَعنى القَطيعةِ والفِراقِ
By your father's life, they have come together for no purpose
By your father's life, they never joined
Other than that of severance and separation.
Except in meaning parting and separation.
