تخُط يَخُط الشوْقُ في القلْبِ شَخْصَها

تخُط يَخُط الشوْقُ في القلْبِ شَخْصَها

ففي كل ما تَأْتِيهِ حُسْنٌ وتَحْسِينُ

ففي كل ما تَأْتِيهِ حُسْنٌ وتَحْسِينُ

She writes; longing inscribes her form in the heart.

Longing draws her figure in the heart

For in everything she does there is beauty and beautification.

So in all that comes to it there is beauty and elegance

وليسَتْ تُطيقُ الشينَ في حالِ نُطقِها

وليسَتْ تُطيقُ الشينَ في حالِ نُطقِها

فمِنْ أجلِ بُعْدِ الشينِ بَاعَدهَا الشيْنُ

فمِنْ أجلِ بُعْدِ الشينِ بَاعَدهَا الشيْنُ

And she cannot pronounce the letter shīn when she speaks.

Yet she cannot bear the "sh" sound when uttered

So, because shīn is distant, ugliness has kept away from her.

So for the sake of avoiding "sh" she distanced it, "sh"

إذا رقَصَتِ أَبْصَرْتَ كل بَديعَةٍ

إذا رقَصَتِ أَبْصَرْتَ كل بَديعَةٍ

تَرَى أَلِفًا حينا وحِينًا هي النونُ

تَرَى أَلِفًا حينا وحِينًا هي النونُ

When she dances, you behold every marvel.

When she dances you see every grace

You see an alif at times, and at times she is the letter nūn.

At times appearing as "a", at times she is "n"

فيا نُزْهَةَ الأبْصَارِ سُميت نُزَهةً

فيا نُزْهَةَ الأبْصَارِ سُميت نُزَهةً

لكيْ يُوضِحَ المَعْنى بَيانٌ وتَبْيينُ

لكيْ يُوضِحَ المَعْنى بَيانٌ وتَبْيينُ

So, O delight of the eyes, you were named Nuzha,

O delight of sights, you were named Nuzaḥa

So that exposition and explanation may make the meaning clear.

So meaning can be clarified through eloquence and explanation
