    فَروْضُنَا زَارَهُ البَهارُ

    O lover of ox-eye daisies, visit us;

For ox-eye daisies have visited our garden.

And hasten to wine that showed us

A daytime sun, though it was not day.

In a garden where, if you alight,

    Fellowship and dignity alight there.

    Come early, cherished Abu Bakr,

To a cup and flowers in their first bloom.

Its radiance pleased the eyes when

    Yellowness lay amid its white.

As though it were our cup passed round:

This is glass, and that is wine.

Because of it, the gardens' mouth smiles,

Revealing pearls filled with pure gold.
