سافِرْ تَنَلْ بالأسفارِ كُلَّ عُلا

سافِرْ تَنَلْ بالأسفارِ كُلَّ عُلا

وتَشْتَفِ النَّفسُ مِنْ مآرِبِها

وتَشْتَفِ النَّفسُ مِنْ مآرِبِها

Travel, and through journeys you will attain every height,

Travel, that you may gain all heights,

and the soul will find satisfaction in fulfilling its desires.

And let the soul have its fill of seeing,

لَوْ لَمْ تَكُنْ في الأسفارِ فائِدَةٌ

لَوْ لَمْ تَكُنْ في الأسفارِ فائِدَةٌ

إِلّا امْتِثالَ امْشُوا في مَناكِبِها

إِلّا امْتِثالَ امْشُوا في مَناكِبِها

If journeys had no benefit

Though there were no profit in travel

except obedience to “Walk through its slopes.”
