O you who share my body with my soul,

Rather, O my deliverer from the hands of my fortitude!

Do you not fear God for the lingering life of a wasting sufferer,

Of whom nothing remains but grief?

Whenever he seeks to endure your absence, he is swayed by

Your glances, which blow into knots.
