أشَمْسَ الغَرْبِ حقّاً ما سَمِعْنا

أشَمْسَ الغَرْبِ حقّاً ما سَمِعْنا

بأنَّك قد سَئِمْتَ من الإقامَهْ

بأنَّك قد سَئِمْتَ من الإقامَهْ

O sun of the West, is what we have heard really true—

The sun of the west, truly we have not heard

that you have grown weary of staying,

That you have tired of staying

وأنَّكَ قَدْ عزمتَ على طُلوعٍ

وأنَّكَ قَدْ عزمتَ على طُلوعٍ

إلى شَرْقٍ سَمَوْتَ به عَلامَهْ

إلى شَرْقٍ سَمَوْتَ به عَلامَهْ

and that you have resolved to rise

And that you have decided to rise

toward an East where you have risen as a sign?

To an east to which you ascended as a sign

لقد زلْزَلْتَ مِنّا كُلَّ قَلْبٍ

لقد زلْزَلْتَ مِنّا كُلَّ قَلْبٍ

بِحَقِّ اللهِ لا تُقِمِ القِيامَهْ

بِحَقِّ اللهِ لا تُقِمِ القِيامَهْ

You have indeed shaken every heart among us;

You have shaken every heart among us

for God's sake, do not bring on the Resurrection.

By God's truth do not arise the resurrection
