Go early to sip from lips and cup.

And drink amid a garden of blossoms and myrtle.

And serve it to me, red and clear,

So clear it transcends the grasp of the senses.

While it is seen in the hand of the one passing it round,

Suddenly it shines in the drinker's cheek.

From the hand of a gazelle, as though he were a moon,

Circling with a firebrand from its cup.

And display it, a glowing ember upon a mountain peak:

There is no good in what is hidden from people.
