قَبلَ تَرحالِهِ ونأْيِ مَحَلِّهْ
Give your wealth freely; do not fret over giving it away,
Spend your wealth, do not care for its loss
Before it departs and its dwelling grows distant.
Before it leaves you and settles elsewhere
إنَّماonly المالُthe wealth عِنْدَكَin your keeping ابنُson سَبيلٍa road
إنَّما المالُ عِنْدَكَ ابنُ سَبيلٍ

Wealth in your keeping is only a wayfarer,
Wealth with you is but a wayfarer’s provision
And hospitality to a wayfarer means preparing his travel gear.
And readying a wayfarer’s provision is honouring him
