And a woman reproaches me, urging me to forsake love and youthful ardor,

though she knows that fidelity is rare.

Away with you! For, in loving them, what remains of my life—

when passion claims it—has no substitute.

My soul has indeed spurned deceit toward my love,

and betrayal; my heart in his hands is proof.
