عَدوّكyour enemy دارِهِtreat him tactfully ماas much as اسطَعْتَyou can حَتَّىuntil
عَدوّك دارِهِ ما اسطَعْتَ حَتَّى
يعودَhe becomes لَديكَto you كالخِلِّlike a close friend الشَّفيقِcaring
يعودَ لَديكَ كالخِلِّ الشَّفيقِ
Treat your enemy tactfully as much as you can, until
Your enemy, his house did not shine
he becomes like a caring, close friend to you.
Until he returns to you, like a compassionate friend
فماfor nothing فيon الأرضِthe earth أرْدىmore ruinous منthan عَدُوٍّan enemy
فما في الأرضِ أرْدى من عَدُوٍّ
ولاand nothing فيon الأرضِthe earth أجْدىmore beneficial منthan صَديقِa friend
ولا في الأرضِ أجْدى من صَديقِ
For nothing on earth is more ruinous than an enemy,
So there is none in the land more vicious than an enemy
and nothing on earth is more beneficial than a friend.
Nor in the land more helpful than a friend
