يا غادِياً في حِرْصِهِ رائِحاً

يا غادِياً في حِرْصِهِ رائِحاً

لَرَفْضُكَ الحِرْصَ هو الخيرُ لَكْ

لَرَفْضُكَ الحِرْصَ هو الخيرُ لَكْ

O you who go morning and evening in your greed,

O you who go in pursuit of desire, rushing

Surely, renouncing greed is best for you.

Your rejection of desire is goodness for you

لم تَدْرِ أنَّ الله سُبحانَهُ

لم تَدْرِ أنَّ الله سُبحانَهُ

هو الَّذي بِفِضلِهِ استَقْبَلكْ

هو الَّذي بِفِضلِهِ استَقْبَلكْ

You did not know that God—glory be to Him—

You do not know that Allah the Glorious

is the One who welcomed you with His bounty.

Is He who by His favor welcomed you

رآكَ مُضطَرّاً بِلا قُوَّةٍ

رآكَ مُضطَرّاً بِلا قُوَّةٍ

فمنَّ بالقُوَّةِ واختارَ لَكْ

فمنَّ بالقُوَّةِ واختارَ لَكْ

He saw you in dire need, without strength,

He saw you helpless, without any strength

so He favored you with strength and chose for you.

So He blessed you with strength and chose for you

فَفوِّضِ الأمْرَ لِتَدْبِيرهِ

فَفوِّضِ الأمْرَ لِتَدْبِيرهِ

مُرتَضِياً مِنهْ بما حُقَّ لَكْ

مُرتَضِياً مِنهْ بما حُقَّ لَكْ

So entrust the matter to His governance,

So entrust the matter to His arrangement

content with what is due to you from Him.

Content with what He decreed as right for you

وكُنْ كما كُنْتَ لَهُ أوّلاً

وكُنْ كما كُنْتَ لَهُ أوّلاً

يَكُنْ لَكَ الآنَ كما كانَ لَكْ

يَكُنْ لَكَ الآنَ كما كانَ لَكْ

And be as you were to Him at first;

And be as you were with Him at first

He will be for you now as He was for you.

So He may be with you now as He was with you
