O people of Taybah, my heart
O people of generosity, my heart
has strayed from the path of patience.
Has strayed from the path of patience
أشكوI complain اليكمto you زماناa time
أشكو اليكم زمانا
عليagainst me بالبينthrough separation جَاراhas acted unjustly
علي بالبين جَارا
I complain to you of a time
I complain to you of an era
that has wronged me through separation.
That has oppressed me with separation
وبعدكمand after you لستI am not ارضىI accept
وبعدكم لست ارضى
منfrom البريةcreation جَاراa neighbor
من البرية جَارا
And after you, I will not accept
And after you all, I find no solace
anyone among creation as a neighbor.
In the wilderness of estrangement
ودمعand the tears of عينيmy eye عليكمfor you
ودمع عيني عليكم
لأدمعشwith the tears of (apparent typo) المزنِthe rain clouds جارىhas vied
لأدمعش المزنِ جارى
And my eye’s tears for you
My tears for you
have vied with the tears of the rain clouds.
