    والنَّفسُ في حَقِّهِ تَهُونُ

    O best of friends, may my soul be his ransom;

and for his sake the soul counts for little.

I was told of an elegant gathering,

the kind where wanton revelry is fitting.

A graceful knight wheeled about there,

the eyes following him with their gaze.

He appeared in the panoply of war,

conjectures pelting him with their imaginings.

His movements lend lightness even to

one whose habit has always been stillness.

So delicate are they that, were they a breeze,

the branches would not feel its touch.

Were he to move within the corners of the eyes,

the eyelids would not sense him.

Is there, then, a way to one like him?

And his like so rarely exists.
