صحبت بِكَ الزَّمانَ اخا وفاء

فها هو قَد تَنَمرَّ للفظيعه

Through you, I kept company with Time as with a faithful brother;

Through you, I kept company with Time—a faithful brother;

but behold, it has now turned savage, bent on horror.

And behold, it has turned savage, bent on calamity.
