Look at the sun as it rises,

Radiant, in company with the splendor of sunrise.

Pink, bringing with it the joy of dawn

وانظر لها عندَ الغُروب كئيبة

صفراء تَعقب ظلمةَ الآفاقِ

صفراء تَعقب ظلمةَ الآفاقِ

And look at it at sunset, sorrowful,

And look at it at sunset, gloomy

Yellow, ushering in the darkness of the horizons.

Yellow, following the darkness of horizons

وكفى بيومِ طُلوعها من غربها

وكفى بيومِ طُلوعها من غربها

أَن تؤذن الدنيا بوشكِ فراقِ

أَن تؤذن الدنيا بوشكِ فراقِ

And the day it rises from its west is enough

And it is enough that it rises in the west

To warn the world that parting is near.

To foretell the world is nearing its end
