The world offers itself to me with the pleasure of food,

The world presented itself to me with an alluring pleasure,

and the finery of splendid embroidered garments.

Adorned with embroidered garments of subtle luxury.

أرادت سِفَاهاً أن تُمَوِّه قُبحَهَا

أرادت سِفَاهاً أن تُمَوِّه قُبحَهَا

على فِكَرٍ خَاضَت بحارَ الدَّقائق

على فِكَرٍ خَاضَت بحارَ الدَّقائق

Foolishly, it sought to disguise its ugliness

It foolishly wanted to conceal its ugliness

from minds that have plunged into seas of subtleties.

From a mind that traversed the seas of intricacies.

فلا تخدعينا بالسراب فإننا

فلا تخدعينا بالسراب فإننا

قتَلنا نُهانَا في طِلابِ الحقائقِ

So do not deceive us with a mirage, for we
