به دونَ الوَرَى كلفِي
O full moon without a single spot,
O full moon without a blemish,
for you alone, above all creation, burns my consuming love—
with whom alone, of all mankind, I am enamored!
بماby what فيin الطرفthe eye منof كَحَلٍnatural kohl-darkness
بما في الطرف من كَحَلٍ
وماand what فيin الَخصرthe waist منof هَيَفِslenderness
وما في الَخصر من هَيَفِ
for the natural kohl-darkness in your eyes,
By the kohl-darkness in your eye
and the slender grace of your waist.
and the slenderness of your waist,
أَبِنreveal ليto me دُرَّthe pearls of ثَغرِكyour mouth ماwhat
أَبِن لي دُرَّ ثَغرِك ما
بهاءbeauty الدُّرِّpearls فيin الصَّدفِthe shell
بهاء الدُّرِّ في الصَّدفِ
Show me the pearls of your mouth—not
show me the pearls of your mouth—what
within the shell does the splendor of pearls lie.
