لا خير في طبرستانٍ وجُرجانِ

لا خير في طبرستانٍ وجُرجانِ

فاضرط عليها بإيقاعٍ وألحانِ

فاضرط عليها بإيقاعٍ وألحانِ

There is no good in Tabaristan and Jurjan.

No good in Tabaristan and Gurgan,

So fart upon it with rhythm and melodies.

So depart from them with rhythm and tunes,

وارحل فإنَّ بلادَ الله واسعةٌ

وارحل فإنَّ بلادَ الله واسعةٌ

هذا العراقُ وذا مَنجا خُراسَانِ

هذا العراقُ وذا مَنجا خُراسَانِ

And depart, for God's lands are vast.

And travel, for God's lands are spacious,

Here is Iraq, and here is Khurasan's refuge.

This is Iraq, and there lies Khorasan's sanctuary,

من كلِّ شيءٍ لطُلاَّبِ العُلا بَدَلٌ

من كلِّ شيءٍ لطُلاَّبِ العُلا بَدَلٌ

أرضٌ بأرضٍ وَسُلطَانٌ بِسُلطانِ

أرضٌ بأرضٍ وَسُلطَانٌ بِسُلطانِ

For seekers of eminence, everything has a replacement:

For the seekers of knowledge everything is replaceable,

One land for another, and one ruler for another.

A land for a land, and a ruler for a ruler.
