وإذا رأيتَ الفضلَ فازَ به الفتى

وإذا رأيتَ الفضلَ فازَ به الفتى

فاعلم بأنَّ هناك نقصاً خافياً

فاعلم بأنَّ هناك نقصاً خافياً

And when you see a young man attain excellence,

When you see virtue possessed by the youth

Then know that there is a hidden flaw.

Know that concealed is a fault somewhere

فالله أكملُ قُدرَةً من أن تَرَى

فالله أكملُ قُدرَةً من أن تَرَى

لكمالِه ممن بَرَاه ثانياً

لكمالِه ممن بَرَاه ثانياً

For God is too perfect in power for you to see

For God is too perfect in might

An equal to His perfection among those He created.

That a flaw in His work should appear
